Introduction

COLISH is being released over the century in several versions towards the next generation English (ngE). Each version or update, will have its own lifecycle consisting of the phases: Development, Tooling, Teach and Afterlife.

Development Phase

In this phase the language will be further developed according to the long term plan, i.e. more simplification rules will be introduced.

The actual rule definitions will depend on how the users have adopted the last version, on the willingness of the market to change, on results from Acceptance Tests, on new understandings of the change process, on paradigm changes in teaching itself due to advances in technology.

Tooling Phase

The Tooling Phase is focused on the development and deployment of tools, materials, methods for teaching, translation, etc. and the building of teaching competence.

Teaching Phase

This phase is where the active teaching of the new version takes place i.e. in schools.

This phase can be before or during the market use of the new COLISH version.

Afterlife Phase

After the Teaching Phase, the new COLISH version will be actively used in the market until it is slowly replaced by other updates.
